Cookie policy

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser so it can work properly, for example to keep you logged in. Websites can also store data in your browser in other ways, such as local storage. This policy covers both.
2. What we use on xcota.eu
Only what the site needs to work. We do not use advertising, analytics, tracking or profiling cookies.
| Name | Type | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
xcota | Necessary cookie | Keeps you logged in and protects forms against misuse (account pages, free check). | Up to 14 days |
xcota_notice | Local storage | Remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so it does not come back on every page. | Until you clear it |
xcota_chat | Session storage | Keeps your conversation with the chat assistant while the tab is open. | Until you close the tab |
3. The chat assistant
The assistant in the corner of our pages is an AI. Your conversation is kept in your browser while the tab is open, and on our server for 90 days so we can improve answers. It does not use cookies for advertising or tracking.
4. Third-party cookies
When you pay, PayPal’s payment buttons may set their own cookies for secure payment and fraud prevention. These are governed by PayPal’s cookie policy. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so no font provider sets cookies or receives your IP address.
5. How to control cookies
Because we only use necessary cookies, there is nothing to switch on or off. You can delete cookies and stored data at any time in your browser settings. If you delete the xcota cookie, you are logged out.
